Class Descriptions

Students will be invited to engage with the dramatic arts through the exploration of movement, improvisation, voice and communication. We will explore multi-modal elements through sound, space, props and partnered work.

This class will focus on creativity through short script and monologue writing. Students will have the opportunity to craft a written piece and actualize their script in the studio. The class will combine a written and studio-based component. This is an excellent opportunity to strengthen literacy skills in a creative space.

This class will focus on social-emotional learning and will encompass all facets of the arts (drama, movement, visual arts and music). Special focus will be directed towards building student confidence, self-efficacy, mood and emotion. Through hands-on activities, this class will be routed in the theme of mindfulness and a growth mindset.

This class will utilize blackout poetry, altered journals, collage, pointillism and other visual art projects to engage participants in creative visual arts. We will explore visual arts as a way to journal and explore our own narratives.

CreatEd offers writing classes in the “think tank” aimed at preparing students for post-secondary studies. Classes range from creative to academic writing and may be taken to support current secondary literacy or to explore alternative writing approaches.

CreatEd offers workshops for educators and students. Educator workshops will model arts-based learning methods as well as provide resources and activities to use in the classroom. Student workshops will be based on topics indicated and will be advertised on the main page.

CreatED offers both full and half-day camps during summer months and March Break. Camps will be themed and will be advertised on the main page.
